When I was studying Integral Yoga at Satchidananda Ashram, I became familarized with the research of Dr. Dean Ornish. His studies proved that diet and life-style changes can prevent and even reverse disease. The idea is that health and happiness are our natural state which can be restored through: Yoga & Meditation, Exercise, Eating a Plant Based Diet, and having Social Connection & Relationships. Dr. Ornish’s findings were so conclusive that now even Medicare recognizes the validity of this research and is funding lifestyle changes for patients suffering from heart disease!
